SALI's Farm is a safe haven for at-risk children and rescued animals to bond, learn, and heal with one another. SALI's Farm utilizes animal-assisted and horticultural activities that help abused and neglected children heal emotionally from trauma. Abused and neglected animals are given a permanent home. Our goal is to help children and animals heal and help break the cycle of violence. SALI's Guardian Program provides for the needs of companion animals of women & children fleeing violence, isolated seniors, and people living in poverty and on the street. SALI believes that all members of our community deserve the love and support of pets, especially our most vulnerable. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for our two-legged and four-legged community members.

To create, in a client's home or in a residential home-like setting, a place where people of the communities we serve, experience a living spirit of compassion, hope and healing. To create a community where the dignity, humanity and holistic well being of a person, is celebrated. A place where people may live to their fullest as they journey to life’s end.

Seniors Services Society offers over fifty years of combined experience serving seniors in New Westminster, across Metro Vancouver and around B.C. The society offers support programs and information for seniors in three distinct areas: Support Services for seniors living in New Westminster; Housing Services for seniors province wide; and information for seniors and service providers throughout the Metro Vancouver via our Community Education department. Annually, Seniors Services Society serves over 4,000 vulnerable and socially isolated seniors across the province.

PARKER STREET FOOD AND FURNITURE BANK is the working name of the Community Care Network Society. We are dedicated to assisting those in need in HRM who require help to access basic necessities such as food, furniture and education. Donations fill many needs, above all, they bring hope into the lives of families who are struggling daily, year-round. Donations allow us to not only help individuals with these basic necessities but also to help them become self-sufficient by offering training programs that translate into work opportunities. Your support also allows us to provide financial assistance in cases where families or individuals need emergency supplies such as oil for their furnace, help with a power bill, and prescription medication. "Reaching into the Community in Service and Love" THE TURKEY CLUB, founded by Jack Cruickshank in 2004, is dedicated to helping the needy at Christmas.

The Alzheimer Society of Calgary is an independent, local non-profit organization serving Calgary and surrounding areas. For thousands of local families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, this is where community, insight and empowerment begin. We work to ensure that people impacted by dementia have access to high quality education, care and support throughout their journey of impact.

Domestic Abuse Services (Our Lady of Good Counsel Society) is a registered, non-profit organization founded in 1995, within the Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver, under the auspices of the Catholic Women’s League. We assist anyone seeking safety or recovery from domestic abuse – regardless of religious denomination, race, sex, or creed. Members of the society are: volunteers who uphold Catholic & Christian values; providers of direct services for domestic abuse victims; advocators of non-violence in the community

Our objectives: •provide practical opportunities for North Americans and citizens of many developing countries to help reduce global poverty through volunteering •link people and organizations the world over so they can together tackle social justice and development issues •increase public awareness of global issues, and encourage people to take action for equitable, sustainable development. Cuso International focuses on five development goals: In each country where we work, program staff from Cuso International or strategic partner VSO work with local partner groups and focus on two or three goals. Formed in 1981 by a group of concerned Edmontonians, the original mandate of the Edmonton Gleaners Association was to collect unmarketable (but otherwise edible) food and to use it to counter the city's growing hunger problem. Today, Edmonton's Food Bank acts mainly as a central warehouse, distributing food through over 200 partner agencies throughout the city. Thanks to this consolidated effort, we ensure that food and monetary donations go directly to those who need it to the most. In fact, each month in 2012, the Food Bank provided food for nearly 15,000 hampers and over 350,000 meals and snacks through our various programs. In sum, in our 30 years of operation, Edmonton's Food Bank has evolved into a very efficient and very passionate group dedicated to eliminating the hunger problem in our city.

Yellow Brick House helps abused women and children by offering emergency shelter, transitional housing, counselling and supportive services; empowering them to lead violent-free lives. Aside from direct services to abused women and children we also provide public educational services within the school systems. Abuse prevention workshops raise awareness among students about the issues of violence against women while promoting healthy relationships. We directly speak to over 9,000 individuals every year. The Friends of Algonquin Park was established in 1983 as a non profit registered charity. The Friends operate as a cooperating association under an agreement with the Ontario Parks to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin Park. This is accomplished by developing and reprinting Park-related publications, and funding Park projects through the proceeds from sales at The Friends' two bookstores in the Park, private donations, and various fundraising efforts. The activities of The Friends of Algonquin are coordinated by a volunteer Board of Directors who reside in different parts of Ontario. Since its establishment, The Friends has grown to a membership of over 3000 people, and continues to attract support from around the world.
