Crossing Borders

Crossing Borders (CB) is a non-profit, non-partisan civil society organisation. The vision of CB is a world in peace with itself in which diversity is celebrated. The mission is to create dialogue space toward such a world and to build the capacity of youth, media workers and educators to realise the above vision. The overall goal is to enable people with different backgrounds to learn to live together on equal terms. Crossing Borders started as a project in 1999 in Denmark in support of meaningful dialogue between the conflict parties in the Middle East. In response to increased activities and demands for the CB concept and services, it was transformed, in 2004, into a dynamic organization with activities in Denmark and abroad.

Mafaz Foundation for Development

Who We Are? The Mafaz Development Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Morocco, founded in 2019 by engineers from various specialties and with diverse volunteer experiences, all sharing the same vision. Our Vision: Empowering Young Minds for Lifelong Impact We are a collective of volunteer engineers from diverse technical backgrounds, united by a shared belief: The most powerful way to help someone is to support their ability to grow, think, and build for themselves. Our non-profit initiative is rooted in human development, with a strong focus on education - because we know that real, long-term change starts with young people and their mindset. We work hand-in-hand with under-resourced schools to enhance the quality of education, especially for students aged 12 to 16 - a critical stage when identity, motivation, and future orientation are taking shape. Our Core Approach: Soft Skills ProgramsWe design and deliver practical, age-appropriate training to build key life competencies: emotional intelligence, problem-solving, communication, adaptability, and teamwork. Digital Transformation for SchoolsWe help schools integrate technology in meaningful ways - from digital literacy to tools that engage students and support teachers. Mindset & MentorshipThrough workshops and mentoring, we support students in building confidence, self-awareness, and a proactive attitude toward their future. We don't aim to substitute traditional education - we complement and uplift it by equipping both students and educators with the tools to thrive. Why Now? As digital and social realities evolve rapidly, many students are left without the emotional or practical preparation to navigate what's ahead. We step in at the right time - not just to transfer knowledge, but to ignite personal transformation. Our Mission: To help shape an educated and cultured citizen, instilled with reformative values and thus a productive member of society. To achieve this goal, the Mafaz Development Foundation has made public education its top priority by focusing its efforts on improving the quality of teaching and modernizing educational spaces for Moroccan students. Our Principles: Independence:To preserve its moral and financial independence, Mafaz operates according to its own principles while maintaining strict political impartiality. Professionalism:Mafaz bases the design, implementation, management, and evaluation of its programs on professional standards and the capitalization of its experience. Transparency:Mafaz is committed to transparency with its beneficiaries, partners, and donors regarding the management of donations and provides all necessary guarantees. How and where we operate ? The Mafaz Development Foundation operates throughout Morocco, with a particular focus on rural and underserved areas where educational and social needs are most pressing. Our projects are implemented directly on the ground by multidisciplinary teams of volunteer engineers and professionals, ensuring a practical and community-centered approach. We work closely with local stakeholders-schools, associations, and public institutions-to co-design and deliver impactful, sustainable solutions. Whether through modernizing school infrastructure, promoting ecological awareness, or fostering digital literacy, our operations are guided by our core values of independence, professionalism, and transparency.

Eve Branson Foundation

The Eve Branson Foundation is a small non-profit based in Morocco, spearheaded by Richard Branson's mum, Eve Branson. The mission of the Eve Branson Foundation (EBF) is to provide young people with artisanal skills-training and to preserve traditional Moroccan and Berber crafts, enriching the lives of local families from Atlas Mountain communities. Since 2005, our collaborative programmes have helped to sustain livelihoods in the region and we continue to work in close partnership with award-winning hotel Kasbah Tamadot. To achieve better living standards, EBF works at a community level to develop initiatives in four key areas: artisanal training; environment, healthcare and education. Eve's vision was for a community where young people, women and men, have opportunities to earn a living and build a secure and healthy future. Today, EBF provides training to more than 75 local young women and men across three craft centres, offering programmes in weaving, carpet-making, embroidery, tailoring and woodworking. Each centre encourages the production and selling of artisan goods so that the young people are able to generate a small income for themselves and their families. Since the beginning, we have worked hand in hand with the team at Kasbah Tamadot, who employ over 98% local staff, to enhance living standards in some of the most impoverished communities surrounding the property. We believe in working in partnership with each village to bring about transformations both economically and socially, and have learned through mutual respect and determination, how to successfully combine our entrepreneurial spirit with the Berber culture.

Les Oiseaux migrateurs

The mission of the association Les Oiseaux Migrateurs is to create a collaborative space organised around diasporas, making the link with the African continent. We federate an international network of artists, designers, entrepreneurs, students, researchers, innovators, architects, academics, brands and decision-makers from all over the world - to support and empower international youth. Ideal for learning, experimenting and prototyping sustainable and scalable solutions to the challenges our communities may face. Union de la Jeunesse Internationale is the community center created by Les Oiseaux Migrateurs in 2022, with a multidisciplinary and contemporary program that supports emerging diaspora talent and provides a platform for creative and entrepreneurial development. Breaking away from the "bourgeois hierarchy" of the arts and resolutely turned towards interculturality, the Union de la Jeunesse internationale offers an ambitious program of exhibitions, debates and workshops. The idea is to provide a platform for expression and knowledge-sharing for young people, and above all to create an avant-garde venue capable of taking the "pulse of what's happening in the world today", with an emphasis on diasporic cultures. It aims to encourage and connect creative people, entrepreneurs and thinkers by providing them with tools such as an exhibition hall, a workshop space, a radio station and a library.

Bringing access to knowledge where it's most needed Since 2007, Bibliotheques Sans Frontieres (Libraries Without Borders) has worked to bring knowledge and information to people in need. We provide access and resources that connect people to books and digital resources, expanding the reach of libraries, training facilitators in post-emergency situations, and addressing the needs of under-resourced communities.
