Forging Connections, Driving Change, and Empowering Communities The Legacy Foundation Japan is a social professional network headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. Founded in January 2020, the Foundation's mission is dedicated to connecting, investing, and empowering the future of African Americans and people of African descent in Japan. It is our priority to build and strengthen our identity as a people; equipping communities with the knowledge, tools, and connections needed to not only survive but to thrive, creating a legacy of success in Japan and the world. We work to: To educate and build stronger relationships that bridge communities for positive change and support. Create a space for engagement to have the necessary conversations to increase understanding to heal, build and thrive as a community. Expand our cultural, social, and financial contributions, while building stronger relationships of mutual understanding with Japanese and the other nationalities residing in Japan.

Our mission is to collaborate with global citizens in order to scale the impact that social entrepreneurship has on the world. In order to attain the world in which WIT envisions, WIT perceives social entrepreneurs as seeds of change. We identify the differences and bridge the gap between various regions and sectors, while empowering leaders, all working collectively to scale the impact of social entrepreneurship in this world.

Japan Commitee for UNICEF is one of National Committees for United Nations Children's Fund. It is an integral part of UNICEF's global organization and a unique feature of UNICEF. Currently there are 34 National Committees in the world, each established as an independent local non-governmental organization. Serving as the public face and dedicated voice of UNICEF, the National Committees work tirelessly to raise funds from the private sector, promote children's rights and secure worldwide visibility for children threatened by poverty, disasters, armed conflict, abuse and exploitation. UNICEF is funded exclusively by voluntary contributions, and the National Committees collectively raise around one-third of UNICEF's annual income. This comes through contributions from corporations, civil society organizations and individual donors. They also rally many different partners - including the media, national and local government officials, NGOs, specialists such as doctors and lawyers, corporations, schools, young people and the general public - on issues related to children's rights.

We believe that if we can increase people's interest in welfare and encourage them to work together with us to address the issues that welfare for the disabled faces, both as individuals and as an organization, this will be the power to change society.

Through children's cafeterias, we support child raising and work to eliminate food waste, and in cooperation with local communities and businesses, we solve social issues such as child poverty and food waste. We enrich the leisure time of children with illnesses and disabilities, and realize the dreams and challenges of children and their families.
