Founded in 1972, Mermaid Theatre's unique adaptations of children's literature have delighted more than 4.5 million young people on four continents. The company ranks among North America's most respected theatres for the young, and has won widespread recognition for its important ambassadorial role. Mermaid regularly crosses North America, and has represented Canada in Japan, Mexico, Australia, England, Northern Ireland, Holland, Scotland, Wales, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Ireland. Mermaid has earned Export Excellence Awards from both Nova Scotia and the Government of Canada in recognition for contributions to the Province's culture and economy, has merited an award for Best Performing Group from the Canadian Arts Presenting Association, and received the Crystal Tourism Ambassador Award from Nova Scotia’s tourism industry.
Gateway Centre for Learning, formerly known as the Midland Area Reading Council, has been providing adult literacy and numeracy upgrading since 1982. Our trained volunteers are dedicated to helping adults in our community acquire reading, writing, numeracy and other life skills. In January 2012, Gateway launched child and youth tutoring programs in response to a need in the community and to end the cycle of adults needing our services.
Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) is a not-for-profit, multi-service organization that provides services to children and families of Milton and the surrounding communities. Through our Ontario Early Years Centre and our Family Resource programs we provide early learning programs for children, their parents and caregivers at minimal or no cost to participants. MCRC's parent resource library offers a variety of resources and workshops including access to our parent educators. Through our Licensed Child Care programs, MCRC provides quality early learning and care at an affordable cost and subsidy is available for eligible families. Collaboratively with Halton Region Children Services, MCRC operates The Halton Resource Connection, which provides training, support and resources to parents, caregivers, individuals and organizations working with children and youth.
We are a growing and busy organization that serves the citizens of the District of Mission and the surrounding areas of Lake Errock, McConnell Creek, Hatzic Prairie, Hatzic Island, Nicomen Island, Deroche and Dewdney.
MCS is an organization of community choral singers who perform an annual concert comprised of classical, jazz, pops and Broadway style music presented in community venues. They have an impressive outreach program including engagements for benefits concerts and non-ticketed cultural events for schools and community groups. New singers are welcome
Founded in 1972, Orchestras Mississauga is a unique music organization in that it has three distinct music ensembles: - The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra is a large community orchestra of well over 80 volunteer musicians, led by a core of professional principal players. - Established in 1987, Sinfonia Mississauga is a professional chamber ensemble of 12 string musicians and it is known for its highly polished, spellbinding performances. - The Mississauga Philharmonic is a 40-piece professional ensemble which performs the Pops series and also performs the annual Hollywood Sound Education Program. Orchestras Mississauga is a valuable cultural resource for Mississauga and its surrounding areas, providing educational opportunities for schools, instruction to young musicians, and a valuable experience for countless professionals, students and volunteer players. The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum (MVTM) is located in the annex of the former Rosamond Woolen Company in Almonte, Ontario. Constructed in 1867 this National Historic Site of Canada. It features a fabulous blend of the old and new all relating to the history of the Mississippi Valley and the textile industry. Exhibitions range from early mill history and period mill equipment to cottage industry and eclectic modern fibre art exhibitions. This community museum combines traditional static and working displays of textile equipment and processes with activities and events focusing on the region's heritage, culture and role of the textile industry in the development of Canada. It also houses the Mary Lettnre Textile Research Center. The research centre contains resources on both the industrial, and cottage textile industry as well as textile crafts.

The Mon Sheong Foundation is the first Chinese Canadian charitable organization in Ontario. It accomplishes its mission through the operations of three long term care centres, three Chinese schools and a Youth Group.
