Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue (SSR), founded in 2017, is a 501c3, all-volunteer rescue focused mainly on rescue of German Shepherd Dogs (GSD). Based in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, we expand our reach to save GSD in heavily populated areas throughout the country. Many of our members have vast experience in dog rescue. Our hope is to help rescue, rehabilitate and re-home every German Shepherd in need. After years of dedicating our lives to other rescues, we decided to venture into our own rescue to expand our reach to places like Texas with a high population of homeless dogs & bring them to the east coast where they are more adoptable. We have a strong passion to help the breed believing that every dog deserves a chance at life in a good home, no matter where they come from.

Freedom German Shepherd Rescue strives to transform the lives of homeless, abandoned, neglected and abused German Shepherds and German Shepherd mixes by placing them with loving and nurturing temporary foster families. We will provide all of the necessary medical care, food, and basic training to ensure they become healthy, well integrated family members. Once the dogs are medically and behaviorally cleared, the rescue’s goal is to place them with their rigorously approved furever families. Our mission is also to educate the greater community on the epidemic of pet overpopulation, unreputable breeding, the challenges homeless, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs face as well as topics to help keep their current dogs safe and healthy.

German Shepherd Rescue of New England, Inc. (GSRNE) is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to providing veterinary care, evaluation and adoptive homes for the countless numbers of German Shepherd Dogs who are left in pounds to await uncertain fate, are owner surrenders (divorce, death, etc.), or are from abuse or neglect situations. We help provide a safe harbor for German Shepherds that might otherwise be destroyed. Each dog applying to our program is evaluated for temperament and behavioral information. All accepted dogs are spayed or neutered, updated on vaccinations, and receive essential medical care. Then the dogs are placed into GSRNE foster homes, while they await new homes. Finally, each dog is carefully placed in a loving home with a family that matches that dog's temperament, activity level and needs.
