Canine Pet Rescue

Canine Pet Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue organization focusing on saving German Shepherds from high kill shelters in the South. Our dogs are housed in both foster homes as well as in our cozy 7 run kennel located on the horse farm of our founder Carla Brown. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea and Heart Worm preventative prior to placement. We teach a mutual respect between canine and human, which tends to be the source of problems many dog owners face with pet ownership. During training and rehabilitation, each dog is given adequate shelter, food, water, and mental stimulation. Typically, this organization has anywhere from 10-20 dogs in rehabilitation status at any given time.

Chicago French Bulldog Rescue Inc Nfp

Their Misison: Chicago French Bulldog Rescue (CFBR) was launched to protect French Bulldogs from neglect, abuse, loss of family and theft. We rescue them from animal shelters and puppy mills. We help families and individuals that can no longer care for their Frenchies. We are shepherds of the breed working to educate about French Bulldogs and most importantly, placing rescued Frenchies into loving homes. CFBR can only survive on the generosity of your donations. To contribute to our rescue simply click on DONATE. Any sized gift is much appreciated and goes directly towards the medical and behavioral care of our beautiful rescues. Give what you can and know it will be used to protect and provide for this incredible breed. Our board, comprised of volunteers and devout supporters of the breed, manages CFBR. We are seeking assistance from volunteers who love the breed as much as we do — whether you would like to foster, evaluate potential homes, or help with fundraisers, there is always a space available for qualified volunteers!

Harpseals.org

Harpseals.org seeks to bring about a permanent end to the massacres of harp seals in Canada. We are utilizing mass media and grassroots activism to raise awareness about the continued killing of the seals in Canada and are promoting a boycott of Canadian seafood to pressure the sealers (who are fishermen) to call for an end to the killing. Harpseals.org is focusing on the power that Americans have to stop this slaughter because Americans buy about 70% of Canadian seafood exports. Harpseals.org is working to spread the message about the Canadian seafood boycott through mass media advertising, such as billboards, radio and television commercials, and print ads and through grassroots outreach, including leafletting, tabling, speaking engagements, and demonstrations. We also seek to educate the public and raise funds through special events that generate media attention. We welcome volunteers of all ages with all kinds of skills and interests and creative ideas.

Corral Riding Academy

CORRAL pairs at-risk girls with rescued horses to promote healing, transformational growth and ultimately, lasting life-change. The CORRAL Riding Academy is a youth-serving nonprofit operating out of Cary, North Carolina. This program’s mission pairs at-risk girls between the ages of eleven and eighteen with rescued horses to promote healing, transformational growth, and ultimately, lasting life change. CORRAL is intended as a long-term intervention for the youth, requiring a minimum of one year’s commitment from each participant, and anticipating a four to seven year commitment for each student with reapplication every year. The intention of CORRAL is to shepherd youth through their difficult teenage years and into college. The structure of CORRAL is based on five components: horseback riding, vocational training, tutoring, equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP), and mentorship. These components are designed to allow participants to gain equine knowledge and skills, and also develop the behaviors, attitudes, and skills necessary for success in life beyond horses. CORRAL accepts participants from referring agencies within the community including Human Services, local law enforcement, Juvenile Justice, Teen Court, school teachers and administrators, and other sources. Candidates are selected through an application and interview process. This process measures and compares level of risk and level of commitment with the end goal being that selected participants will demonstrate both a high level or risk and a high level of commitment.

Friends For Pets Foundation

During the 1980s, the Los Angeles County shelters were mandated to sell to medical research facilities. Numerous well-known organizations as well as small groups worked to buy out of the county shelters animals that were slated for experimentation. Friends For Pets Foundation was formed at this time for the purpose of not only saving the lives destined for laboratory tables but to make a difference in the way our society viewed these abandoned pets.

Animals
Sarges Animal Rescue Foundation Inc

Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation’s creation was inspired by a dog at Haywood County Animal Shelter. Sarge was a dog who had been remanded over to the Haywood County Animal Shelter in 2005 by his owner. A breed rescue volunteer identified him as a young, healthy, purebred German Shepherd Dog and marked him for rescue. Despite best efforts, Sarge was euthanized just one hour before rescue transport arrived. A group of volunteers used this event as a catalyst for change, and formed an organization with the mission of preventing the euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats in the county shelter. In the years since, the county shelter has achieved a “no-kill” status, and it is Sarge’s intention to help the shelter maintain that success.
