Maine Humane (the Maine Federation of Humane Societies) is a statewide network that supports local animal-welfare organizations across Maine by sharing resources, coordinating outreach and advocacy, and promoting humane care and responsible pet ownership. Their work focuses on connecting shelters and stakeholders to reduce pet overpopulation and improve animal welfare statewide.

Just Us For The Animals runs low‑cost spay/neuter clinics and promotes TNR (trap‑neuter‑return) education to reduce pet overpopulation, while also fostering, providing vet care, and placing cats and dogs through rescues or direct adoption.

Santa Monica Mountains Fund (SAMO Fund) is dedicated to the mission of preserving, protecting, and enhancing the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA). Our mission encompasses a commitment to safeguarding the unique ecosystem of the area, fostering a deep connection between people and nature, and supporting the National Park Service in its endeavors. This includes a focus on youth education, scientific research, improvement of park facilities, community stewardship, and the preservation of indigenous cultural resources. This vision is rooted in the belief that sustainable practices and community engagement are key to preserving the ecological and cultural richness of the Santa Monica Mountains for future generations.

Roice-Hurst Humane Society works to promote and preserve the bond between pets and people in western Colorado by sheltering and rehoming dogs and cats and offering community support services (pet pantry, low-cost clinics, spay/neuter help, behavior support, crisis boarding, and programs to keep pets with their families). Their focus is both placing animals in loving homes and preventing unnecessary surrenders through social-support programs.

Pilots To The Rescue is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) that arranges air and ground transport to move animals (and in some cases people at risk) from overcrowded or perilous situations to shelters or areas with available adoption space. Their work supports volunteer pilots and partner shelters to reduce euthanasia and increase animals’ chances of finding homes.

Polk County Humane Society operates a no‑kill shelter that cares for lost, abandoned, and unwanted pets and prepares them for adoption into responsible homes. The organization also works to reduce pet overpopulation and abandonment through spay/neuter promotion and community education.

paws4people foundation trains and places customized Assistance Dogs for two general populations: children and adolescents with physical, neurological, psychiatric or emotional disabilities; and Veterans and active-duty Service Members with Chronic/Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), and Military Sexual Trauma. p4p Volunteers perform thousands of hours of Social Therapy and Educational Assistance work with their p4p certified Assistance Dogs.
