Burnaby Meals on Wheels offers three services:
The HOME MEAL DELIVERY program provides nutritious, hot and frozen, home-delivered meals to people who, for the reason of age, illness, or disability are unable to prepare meals for themselves.
This program benefits clients by providing: • Balanced Chinese, Western and vegetarian meals each containing protein, starch and vegetables. • A friendly visitor and informal security check. • Maintaining independence in their home. • Not having to worry about meal preparation after a hospital stay—meals can be available for short term post-hospital stay.
Currently, Burnaby Meals on Wheels is implementing two new services: (1) supporting Progressive Housing's HOMELESSNESS OUTREACH programs with fresh milk, eggs and fruit; and (2) a co-operative local fruits & vegetables purchasing program called the BURNABY HARVEST BOX.
