Our Mission

​The mission of Northern Colorado Wildlife Center, a 501(c)3 independent nonprofit, is to protect wildlife and the places they call home through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and advocacy.* Rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, and when successful, release those animals back into their natural habitats.* Educate the public about the natural histories of wildlife native to northern Colorado, ways to peacefully coexist with them, and provide humane solutions to human-wildlife conflicts.* Advocate for the preservation and restoration of native ecosystems that provide wildlife places to live and thrive.

  • $3,500 Covers 1 Month of Wildlife Hospital Rent
  • $5,000 Covers 1 Year of medical supplies such as bandages, medications, and syringes.
  • $10,000 Covers 1 year of wildlife formula and food: Maintaining a diverse and nutritious diet for our wildlife patients is essential for their recovery and overall well-being. This funding will help us ensure that we have an adequate supply of specialized diets and nutritional supplements tailored to meet the specific needs of different animal species.

Our team saved this young fawn after its mother was killed. We bottle fed the fawn until it regained its strength. Once it was stabilized, our team transferred the fawn to another wildlife rehabilitator who had other fawn orphans that this one could go with and be raised alongside.

Determined to give this tiny creature a fighting chance, the team rallied together, providing round-the-clock care, warmth, and nourishment. With each passing day, the chipmunk grew stronger, adapting to its new surroundings under the watchful eyes of the dedicated staff. Finally, the day arrived when the chipmunk was ready to embark on its next adventure. With a bittersweet goodbye, the team released the now healthy and independent chipmunk back into the wild, knowing that they had given it a second chance at life. This heartwarming journey highlighted the unwavering commitment of the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center, their ability to nurture and rehabilitate, and the joy of witnessing a rescued baby chipmunk return to its rightful place in nature.
