Housing Unlimited was started by the Montgomery County Maryland chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, an advocacy and support group composed of over 700 Montgomery County families. The mission of Housing Unlimited is to address the housing crisis for adults in mental health recovery by: - Providing permanent, affordable housing opportunities - Empowering people to be live independently - Helping people move from substandard housing - Helping people move from their aging parents? homes - Providing public education, advocacy and community linkage; and - Bringing persons who need housing together in partnerships
