Pledge to make a difference, together.
To fund humanitarian aid and community projects that will promote the survival and prosperity of the Assyrian Chaldean Syriac people in their ancestral homeland of Iraq.
The Shlama Foundation’s work directly aligns with several key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water & Sanitation, Affordable & Clean Energy, and Decent Work & Economic Growth. Through initiatives such as providing university transportation, textbooks, and student housing, the foundation significantly improves access to education in underserved Assyrian communities. While not explicitly focused on gender, these educational efforts promote gender equality by offering inclusive opportunities for both boys and girls. Shlama has also taken action to restore essential infrastructure, such as water wells in Ankawa, which supports SDG 6 by improving access to clean water for local residents. In addition, the foundation supports economic development and sustainability by reviving small businesses, rehabilitating markets, and launching agricultural projects like irrigation canals. These efforts promote decent work and stimulate local economies, fulfilling SDG 8. Shlama has also invested in clean energy, notably installing solar-powered streetlights in Pishkhabur, enhancing both safety and environmental sustainability in line with SDG 7. Across all projects, the foundation demonstrates a grassroots, transparent approach that responds directly to community needs—empowering local populations and addressing global challenges in a tangible and impactful way.
