The Spectrum Center was founded in 2014 with the purpose of being a resource and an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community in and around Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
The Spectrum Center is serving as a host location for meetings for various groups affiliated with the LGBTQ+ community. Currently, we have free HIV testing and other health-related functions through collaboration with the greater community; social functions and support groups. However, long-term plans include providing counseling, a community kitchen and pantry; and short-term emergency housing for LGBTQ+ youth who have been displaced.
