* Supports the ACT infrastructure and our small staff to operate markets and community gardens, * Covers the cost of building and maintaining seven community and school gardens to teach people how to grow their own food, * Supports more than 30 farmers and food producers by providing direct sales outlets (markets), keeping vendor sales in the local economy, and donating excess produce to local food pantries, * Develops educational programs to teach students and community members about growing and consuming fresh food, the benefits of composting, and the essential need to build a sustainable regional food system that serves all.
