Angel Foundation

I am a 75-year-old grandmother of seven, going through chemo for Breast Cancer. I asked if there was a book to read to my grandchildren to explain to them what is happening to me with breast cancer. I don’t want them fretful and worrying about things they don’t understand. You gave me a book, “Jeannie Ann’s Grandma has Breast Cancer.” It was the perfect book to have the older ones read with me, and the younger ones I read it to them. Each of the grandchildren got an AngelPack backpack, with amazing things in it. All six kids got a different stuffed animal. I hugged them first, then gave it to them. Hopefully it will remind them of me. The 6-year-old named her elephant Ellie. She sleeps with it every night; Ellie helps with breakfast and gets tied to the bike so she can go biking. These AngelPacks have made a difference in all our lives. They have provided a way to connect with my grandchildren in a difficult time, but made it fun and uplifting. Somehow the love came pouring out of those packs. I can’t thank you enough for the backpacks you provided me with. God bless you and sustain you to continue your work.

At the age of 16, Brian lost his mother to breast cancer. The only child living at home with a distraught father and no outside resources for support left him to cope with his grief, helplessness, and devastation alone. Brian's experience dealing with his mother's cancer is a large part of what makes us passionate donors to this incredible organization. By providing vital emotional and financial support, Angel Foundation has made it their mission that no one should have to face this disease alone by compassionately walking patients and their families through their cancer journey with knowledge, dignity, and pride.
