H2O is a Libyan youth non-profit organization founded in 2011 to communicate ideas, views and aspirations of Libyan youth, translating them into clear suggestions and demands, which are then presented to the authorities using all means of communication tools. H2O focuses also on the response of Libyan youth towards policies and programs the Government and local authorities present. Credible and creative civic engagement and public education methods are designed by H2O that engage youth in political and social life by enhancing their monitoring and advisory role in turn making the government and elected institutions more efficient, transparent, and inclusive. The commitment of H2O`s members, leadership, and donors has aided Libya's development and supporting its democratic transition under all circumstances. Since 2011 H2O is gaining experience in working not only in the Greater Tripoli area but also in different regions of Libya. Moreover, H2O has established diverse and strong relations with different local and international stakeholders starting from civil society organization to government and official institutions. Awareness - Educating young people about human rights concepts and where the effective role of citizens lies under the system Democracy through a training curriculum and trained guide specially prepared for this process is called citizenship Representative and prepared by the organization to suit the Libyan cause - Educating youth about the mechanisms and tools of democracy, such as the constitution and elections, through the curricula and training programs that were prepared by H20 - Educating young people about candidates to vote for election to elect, a voter guide that was presenting programs - Candidates of the Constituent Assembly for Drafting the Constitution. Short term observation - It consists in observing the polling day for the elections of the municipal councils within the western region, Nafusa mountain and southern region, where H2O had observed all of the polling days on the municipal elections in the mentioned regions. - H2O monitored the National Congress elections by establishing the largest local network at that time called Shaheed Network, and then participating in monitoring the country's elections in 2019. Long term observation - It consists in monitoring elected bodies such as municipal councils and the House of Representatives - Issuing periodic monitoring reports and informing citizens about them and create a state of awareness or push for advocacy initiatives based on them - The organization monitored the performance of the General National Congress from 2012 until 2014 and issued reports in language Biweekly Arabic and English. - Then the team moved to monitoring the performance of the House of Representatives in 2014 until the signing of the political agreement in Skhirat - Recently, the organization has been monitoring the performance of the Greater Tripoli Municipal Councils Advocacy - H2O works with young people who have built their capacities, developed their skills, and contributed to raising their awareness of - Field campaigns and others on social media to practice active citizenship, and most of these campaigns are poured out - In my cases, it supports the civic and political participation of young people and their right to access information and pressure the authorities
